Our mission
Balanced education
AOC Friesland strives to incorporate the learning style of current generations into its view of education. That means we don’t apply a strict teaching philosophy because we don‘t believe we could get good results with strictness. In our teaching philosophy we make sure that the acquisition of knowledge and skills are achieved by various means. The ideal school should be balanced between theory and practice, structure and flexibility, guidance and freedom, projects, traineeship and classes, collective and individual assessment.
Getting the best results
AOC Friesland presents itself as a “people’s organization”, in which the students and staff play the main roles. In a pleasant learning and working environment our staff beavers away to achieve the best results by working together with its students. It happens naturally with a modern approach in which the use of media as a tool is a must. Our staff is really committed to our students and is well-informed about their social environment and experiences.
A diploma for all students
Students will leave the AOC Friesland with a diploma, so they can either keep on studying or be prepared for the job market. They are well prepared and know what is expected from them in terms of practicing a profession or as a member of society.
Cooperation
AOC Friesland wants to emphatically encourage cooperation. In the AOC Friesland we develop even stronger ties between the different school locations and with Cursus & Contract. Further cooperation with the business world is required in order to create a good connection between our trainings and the professional field.
Usage of skills
AOC Friesland wants to gear up itself towards arising chances and make better use of the skills of our employees in this process. In addition to developments in education and economy, developments in the province of Fryslân and on the Frisian countryside are being watched closely.
